Aruba
Aruba is the smallest island in the Dutch Antilles and is located just fourteen miles from Venezuela, close to the islands of Curaçao and Bonaire. Crystalline waters lap against the shores of miles of white sanded beaches, which are guaranteed to be sun kissed and with cruise ships regularly visiting the balmy shores and high levels of luxury on the Caribbean island of Aruba, including 24 hour casinos, gourmet restaurants and a vast range of water sports the island caters well to the over a million tourists who visit it each year.
The majority of visitors head for the island's capital of Oranjestad or the range of resort complexes to the north of the island, situated on the Palm or Eagle beaches. The rest of the small island is unspoilt by tourism, with a wild and arid interior of divi divi trees and variety of cacti. The beaches and excursions offer the chance to go diving and snorkelling and the trade winds supply excellent wind surfing opportunities. The beaches are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine and taking in the scenic horizons and many off the hotels offer the chance for Deep-sea fishing.
