Kanoni holiday guide

Experience Corfu's thirteenth century charm

Just south of Corfu town, picturesque Kanoni is a terraced peninsula overlooking two enchanting islands, offering peace and relaxation away from busy Corfu town.

From Kanoni can be see a tiny island reached by a causeway. This houses the monastery of Vlakherna, and just behind that is “Mouse Island”, which according to ancient legend was formed when the god Poseidon, in a fit of anger, turned Odysseus’s ship to stone. Nowadays, holiday-makers are free to explore Mouse Island for remains of the ship, and at the same take in the charm of the 13th century chapel set among the trees.
